High-Performance Winder Technology:

The days of giving extra material to ensure proper roll length have ended. Reichel & Drews roll winders feature S-wrap feed rolls for precise material feed control.

This design:

  • Produces tightly wound rolls
  • Reduces the chance of telescoping due to slippage
  • Achieves tight length tolerance
  • Results in quiet operation

QP1000 High-Performance Winder Controls:

With QP1000 controls, the winder is capable of monitoring the finished product looper, then regulating the winding speed to maintain the FPL in a fixed position,which eliminates the necessity for operator intervention.

Because the control system is constantly monitoring the FPL and adjusting the winder speed to sychronize with it, the product will be delivered at a consistent temperature.

QP1000 controls work with or without a pit. If an accumulation pit is present, the maximum pit range will be utilized, thus reducing the maximum speed the product exits the FPL. The QP1000 controls eliminate the need for pit sensors and photo-eye maintenance in the pit.

Eliminate Misfeeds:

The control system can sense a misfeed and recover quickly with a reversing rethread function that minimizes waste.

Complementary Equipment:

Core Inserter
Designed to eject a roll onto a core as it is ejected off the winder mandrel, transfer the roll to a tip table for delivery of the roll to the conveying system for transport to the palletizer. Designed to make only two movements, this proven core inserter is easy to program, troubleshoot and maintain.
In-Line Taping Units
Both 2- and 3-head in-line taping units,with independently operating tape heads apply 2”/50mm wide tape.
Expansion Mandrel
Reichel & Drews offers a 3”/76mm expansion mandrel with a counter bearing arrangement for larger, heavier roll applications.
Remote Monitoring
Both video and digital remote monitoring enable you to observe your operation via the internet, check machine set points, view the number of rolls produced and remote programming for maintenance.
Remote Updates
Remote updates allow you to modify PLC logic to meet changing needs,monitor and service drives, personalize touch panel information and adjust and service HMIs.
Data Acquisition
Review roll reports, shift reports,manage downtime and create custom reports.
